The dragon king? Not much, I'm afraid. Not many books mentioned him that I can recall, certainly none in depth.

What if I told you that there's something about me that I've kind of neglected to mention? Not because it's a big secret, it's just that the conversation never steered that way.

Then I would say that any time you feel like telling me about it, I am willing to hear it. This preamble has me intrigued.

I, uh... I met Alduin. He tried to kill me.

Lucien... I'm Dragonborn.

Oh? I had never thought I'd say that you and Tiber Septim had anything in common, but life has proved me wrong once again.

You have the power of the Voice, then?

[fireandhoney]

[Well, Lucien took that better than he thought he would.]

Trust me, that's where the similarities end. But yes, I have that power.

[He comes from strange times. This makes it even stranger, but why should he react poorly to finding out his brother is more capable of protecting himself than first thought? There's only one thing that worries him.]

And Alduin, does he still pursue you?

Don't worry, I took care of him. It's just that usually when I kill dragons, I absorb their souls, and I didn't absorb his. I'm guessing it's because he's a god or something. But that could mean he'll return. Maybe not right away, and maybe not even for a few more Eras.

[applewatcher]

If he slept for so long before, then there's little reason to believe he won't do so again.

If I may, brother, perhaps you should have told me sooner. We could have factored this into your practicing from the start.

[fireandhoney]

I know. I wanted to tell you sooner, I really did. It's just that our conversations never really allowed for it to come up before. I also wanted you to at least see that I'm just as capable with a knife as I am with magic, or the Voice.

You don't need to prove anything to me, brother. I am not the final arbiter of skill, that comes from our work. I am here to help you meet these challenges, nothing more.
